IVANELL NELSON WILSON

Ringgold, LA. - Angels came down to take Ivanell Nelson-Wilson home on July 12, 2008. At the age of 87 years, she will be joining her husband Benton Dugan Wilson, her oldest son, Jack Benton Wilson, and her "baby" Douglas Dean Wilson. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter and caregiver, Joy Wilson Shaw (Leon) of DeBerry, Texas. Also, surviving are the lights of her life, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Jack Rains of Shreveport, Louisiana, Wade Wilson (Moya) of Lafayette, Dirk Odem of Lafayette, MaKayla Holoubek (Charlie) of Concord, New Hampshire and Megan Miller (Matt) of Carencro. Those delightful great-grandchildren are Andrew Raines, Brittany, Colton and Colby Wilson and Jackson Holoubek. Ivanell is also survived by two special brothers Wheat Nelson (Doris Jean) of Monroe and Dr. Don Nelson (Billie) of Ruston.

At the age of fifteen, Ivanell was delighted to marry into the Wilson Family. Between the Nelson's and the Wilson's she leaves many special in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Ivanell was widowed at age thirty-eight and left with three children to raise and to educate. For many years she ran the Exxon station on the corner in Ringgold that she and her husband had bought. Later she became a Bienville Parish Deputy Sheriff and worked there until retirement at the age of seventy-three. Ivanell was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Ringgold her entire adult life. For many years, she was in charge of the church nursery.

Family hour will be held at Rockett Funeral Home in Ringgold, Louisiana from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2008. Funeral services will be held at Rockett Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2008. Bro J.C. Clement will be in charge of the service.

Many people need to be thanked as Ivanell suffered from Alheimer's the last ten years of her life. Ringgold Nurse Care and all of the wonderful people in Ringgold were so good to her. Also, a big Thank You to Heritage Manor South and Life Path Hospice for making her last days comfortable. Any memorials should go to the First Baptist Church in Ringgold or First Baptist Church in Keithville or to givers choice.

She was truly a kind lady who never had anything negative to say about anyone. Heavens angels will rejoice to have a great helper with the entry of Maw Maw/Aunt Idie/Mrs. Ivanell.
