Retired Coldwater Merchant Dies
James Henry Allerdice, 82, of Coldwater died Saturday in the rest home at Greensburg. He was a lifelong Comanche County resident and a retired merchant of Coldwater.
Mr. Allerdice was born May 30, 1891, in Comanche County. He and Elsie E. Blake were married October 22, 1913, at Baldwin.
Mr. Allerdice was a member of the United Methodist Church of Coldwater and the Masonic Lodge, and of Kappa Sigma fraternity.
Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Marge Carrithers, of Saudi Arabia; a sister, Mrs. Florence A. Hazard, of Greensburg; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
The funeral was conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of the Hatfield Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ralph Barcelo officiating. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery of Coldwater.
