Harold was born 18 February 1922, in Howells, Nebraska to August and Rose (Zastera) Christ.

Harold grew up in and received his education in Howells. He attended community colleges in Bellevue, Nebraska Chicago, Illinois, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Boulder, Colorado. While in Chicago, Illinois, he witnessed the very first television being manufactured.

He entered the U.S. Army Air Corp (Signal Corp) on 17 February 1943, and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged on 8 November 1945. He received a Bronze Star for Distinguished Service for his country.

He was united in marriage to Burdean Alyce Stuefer on 4 August 1943, in Sioux City, Iowa. The couple lived in Columbus,Nebraska, where he was employed by Reed and Wurdeman. He also lived in Greeley, Colo., and then moved to Grand Island, Nebraska. He was employed by Miner and Miner and Southern Nebraska Rural Public Power District.

He was a member of L.L.L., Bible Connections, A.A.L., and the American Legion Club.

Survivors of his immediate family include his wife, Burdean; sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Linda of Des Moines, Iowa, Daryl of Grand Island, Dwight and Diane of Madison, Ala., and RaLynn and Ruth of Sutton; and sisters and brother-in-law, Florence and Duane Breitkruetz of Wisner, and AnnaMae Beran of Santa Anna, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Doran Christ; and a nephew, Wayne Christ.
