Later Cecil married Junie Lee Baker and together they had Ebert Keiter, Ruth Minnie Keiter, Earl J. Keiter, Owen H. Keiter, and Mayo George Keiter

Enlisted in Army March 27, 1917. Assigned to 140th Field Hospital Corps, 110th Sanitary Train, 35th Division. Stationed at Camp Doniphan (Okla.). Transferred to 103rd Co. 35th Engineers as a machinist. Sailed from Camp Merritt (N. J.) March 27, 1918 for Brest, France, April 14, 1918, and then to Beziers, Herault, France. January, 1919 was transferred to Lumar, France. March 18, 1919, was sent to Aigufuille, France and then to La Rochelle and St. Nazaire, France. Left for U.S. July 8, 1919. Discharged at Camp Dodge (Iowa) Aug. 5, 1919.
