Mrs Mary E Kattner 44,wife of William Kattner of Penn Forest Twp.passed away suddenly at 9:30 last night at her home.Well known and highly esteemed in the community,she assisted her husband in the operation of a service station and restaurant on the Huffman Trail near East Mauch Chunk.The announcement of her death was recieved by her many friends as a great shock.Born in Hauto,she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Susan Holpit.She moved with her husband from Nesquehoning to Penn Forest 21 years ago.Mrs Kattner was a member of St.Joseph Catholc Church,East Mauch Chunk.
Surviving beside her husband are the following sons;William Jr.and Fredrick both of whom are with the US Navy in Korean Waters aboard the USS Takelma,Francis who entered the Air Force service at Sampson,N.Y.last Wednesday,and Bernard and James at home.A sister Mrs Anna Schlegel and a brother John Holpit both of East Mauch Chunk.She was preceded in death by and infant daughter Mary Elizabeth.
