Irene M. Ferguson, 86, of Memphis, MO passed away on Monday, February 4, 2008 at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis, MO. Irene was born July 19, 1921 in Scotland County, Missouri, the daughter of John and Elsie Dell (Barnett) Stott.

Irene graduated from Granger High School. On November 15, 1942, she married Robert E. Ferguson. Irene and Robert resided in rural Scotland County where they farmed with Jesse Mac Ketchum, Roy and Charles Harris and Phil and Dan Hinds. In the 1960's Irene was also employed with D&C Variety Store and Places.

Irene was a member of the Memphis United Methodist Church and was involved with the woman's group until her health diminished.

She is survived by her children, Rovene (Jim) Parrish of Centralia, MO, Ronnie Ferguson of Milton, IA, and Roberta (Jerry) Anderson of Downing, MO; seven grandchildren, Randy (Laura) Ferguson of Independence, MO, Kandy (Habe) Darr of Lawson, MO, Chris (Kathleen) Parrish of Centrailia, MO, Eric Blesie, IA, Lacey (Jeff) Gottman of Greentop, MO, Lindsay Anderson of St. Charles, MO, Lydia Anderson of Downing, MO, six great-grandchildren, Hunter and Haden Darr, Rusty Parrish, Tanner, Ty, and Trace Gottman, , one brother, Paul Stott of Reseda, CA and a sister-in-law Joan Ferguson of Memphis, MO, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert; a brother, Lawrence Stott; sisters, Elva Rosenberger and Frieda Robinson; brothers-in-law Guy Rosenberger, Dean Ferguson, and Vern Robinson; sisters-in-law Opal Stott, Velma Rude, and Phyllis Stott.

She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, and playing Bingo. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

The family has suggested memorials be given to either the Prairie View Cemetery or the Memphis United Methodist Church and can be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison St., Memphis, Missouri, 63555.

Funeral Services were held February 7, 2008 at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, with Rev. Terry Lippstreu, officiating. Musicians were Connie Courtney, organist and Terry Lippstreu, soloist. Pallbearers were Clifton Stott, Lavern Stott, Leland Stott, Randy Stott, Jerry Robinson, Jim Robinson, Tom LaFrenz and Terry Rude. Interment was in the Prairie View Cemetery in rural Scotland County, MO.
