MRS. ALICE P. MORRIS
Alice Poole Morris died at 11:00 p.m., July 3, 1977, at her home in Howard, KS. She was born in Elk County, October 21, 1898. She was the daughter of John Franklin and Florence Poole. She lived all her life in the community of Howard.
On February 13, 1918, she was married to Edward James Morris, who preceded her in death on February 23, 1971. She was a member of the Christian Church and American Legion Auxiliary. She spent her life as a loving mother and wife.
She is survived by eight children: Mrs. Edith Shipman of Howard, KS, Mrs. Ruth Hedges of Severy, KS; Mr. Willard Morris of Winfield, KS; Mrs. Coretta Webster of Howard, KS; Mr. Eugene Morris of Covina, Calif.; Mr. Lewis Morris of Howard, KS; Mr. Chester Morris of Wichita, KS; and Mrs. Dorothy Goss of Wichita, KS. Twenty-two grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; cousins of the vicinity; two nieces of Howard, KS; and one nephew of Derby. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, one grandson, and one nephew.
Services were conducted in the Spurrier Funeral Home Chapel, Howard, KS, Wednesday, July 6, 1977 at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Harry S. Justvig of the First Christian Church officiated. Music was presented by Mrs. Curtis Morgan, soloist and accompanied by Mrs. Robin Smith at the organ. Casket bearers were the grandsons. Concluding services and interment were in Grace Lawn Cemtery, Howard, KS.
