MT. PLEASANT, Iowa - Betty Lou Ashby, 69, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Muscatine, died Thursday, November 13, 2008, at her home.
Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Casketbearers will be Jeff Kilburn, Alan Kilburn, Lindy Greenfield, Dave Warth, Randy Roach and Jim Kilburn. Honorary casketbearers will be Edward Weikart, Bill Lloyd, Dan Kelly and Brody Warth. Burial will be held at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.
Betty was born on December 21, 1938, in Fairfield, the daughter of Raymond and Maxine Barnett Kilburn. She married Wade Ashby Sr. on June 16, 1972, in Muscatine.
She was a waitress at Grandview Corners for 30 years and a housekeeper at Unity Hospital. She loved to make calendars, play cards, go to the boat, bake and be with family and friends. She especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Christine Edington and her husband, Dave, of Webb City, Missouri, Eddie Weikert and his wife, Jill, of Muscatine and Brenda Eckart of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Tammy Warth and her husband, Dave, of Washington, Brandi Greenfield and husband, Lindy, of Mt. Pleasant, Magen Weikert of Muscatine and Angie Longcor of Muscatine; six great-grandchildren, Brody, Briana, Colton, Lindy Jr., Adrianna and Devin; three brothers, Robert Kilburn and his wife, Barb, of Muscatine, Alan Kilburn and his wife, Mary Lou, of Muscatine and Edwin Kilburn and his wife, Linda, of Wapello; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her half-sister, Shirley; and her great nephew, Robert Kilburn.
