Memorial services for Larry Carbone, 57, of Banner will be 10 a.m. Friday at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Davis officiating. Interment will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Mr. Carbone died April 19, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital of natural causes. He was born April 19, 1951, in Sheridan to Rocco and Kathryn Theresa (Scalise) Carbone. He attended Woodland Park Elementary School, Central Junior High School and Sheridan High School. He worked on a plantation in Hawaii for a time before returning to Sheridan. He worked three years for Spring Creek Coal, then moved to Coos Bay, Ore., where he began raising, breeding and showing Arabian horses. He later returned to Sheridan, where he worked briefly for Legerski Meat before going to work for the Wyoming Department of Transportation as a truck driver and snowplow operator. He retired from WYDOT in 2007 after more than 20 years of service. A member of the National Arabian Horse Association, he enjoyed hunting white-tailed deer, riding motorcycles in his younger days, and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Survivors include a brother, Robert of Westminster, Colo. Memorials may be made to CHAPS Equine-Assisted Therapy.
