Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Edward Benbow Erekson, 87, passed away on September 30, 1999 of causes incident to age.


Born March 25, 1912 in Murray, Utah to William Benbow Erekson and Esther Marie Young Erekson.


Married Louise Barton on January 17, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.


Ed served a mission in Germany from 1936-1939. He attended the University of Utah, where he played on the basketball team. His church service included serving in the Murray Stake Sunday School Presidency, in the Bishopric of the Original Butler Ward, as Young Mens President in the East Jordan Stake for six years, in the East Jordan Stake Presidency, as Assistant Explorer Leader and a greeter in the Cottonwood Fourteenth Ward. He loved people.


Survived by wife; four daughters, Barbara Cromar; Mary Lou (Dennis) Sahleen; Marne Burdette; Edette (Randy) Crump; 24 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by son, Edward Bryon Erekson; three brothers; and one sister.


Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 4, 1999 at 12 noon in the Cottonwood Fourteenth Ward Chapel, 2080 East 5165 South. Friends may Cannon Mortuary, 2460 East Bengal Boulevard (7600 South), on Sunday, October 3, 1999 from 6-8 p.m. and on the day of the services at the Church from 10:45-11:45 a.m.
Interment: Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East Bengal Boulevard (7800 South).
