Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Elizabeth Allenbaugh, age 92, of Manchester, will be conducted at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at the Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wendell Trussell officiating. Burial will follow in the Fredonia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, September 29 from 5-8 PM at Manchester Funeral Home. Mrs. Allenbaugh passed away Monday morning at United Regional Nursing Home.

Mrs. Allenbaugh was born in Coffee County, TN on April 20, 1917, the daughter of the late John W. and Ollie Mae Marcrom McBride. She was a homemaker, a retired nurses's aid, a member of the DAV Auxiliary and Westwood Baptist Church. She loved helping people by taking them where ever they needed to go. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Allenbaugh was preceded in death by her husband, Herman E. Allenbaugh, who passed away in 1985, a son-in-law, Max Duke, one brother, Clifton McBride and one sister Gertha Baltimore.

Mrs. Allenbaugh is survived by two sons, Jackie (Shirley) McBride of Tullahoma and Ronald (Tammy) Allenbaugh of Hammond, IN; one daughter, Evelyn G. Duke of Manchester, five grandchildren, Donna Strickland, Joshua Allenbaugh, Kenny Jernigan, Tina Lawson, and Kim Clevenger; nine great grandchildren, Tracy Strickland, Trey Venable, Nikki Venable, Casey Jernigan, Suvanna Jernigan, Kristyn Clevenger, Kimmie Clevenger, Nick Clevenger, Kaedin Clevenger; one great, great grandchild, Trey Bigsby, and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
