Selina Lewis was known for running Thousand Pines Inn in Tryon, North Carolina. It was the former home of William Gillett, the famous actor who played Sherlock Holmes in the theater. She and her sister, Lesesne Lewis Meegan, sucessfully ran the Inn for over 50 years. Selina was a renowned cook and wrote several cookbooks called "Good Eats".
She was single and the daughter of John Earle Lewis, Sr. and Anna Harriett Smith (Lewis) of Pendleton, South Carolina.
