Ham Traweek was the second child born to his parents, Osceola Lunsford and Ann Haseltine Judson "Hassie" Howton Traweek. He grew up on the family stock farm in northern Burnet County, Texas. On February 7, 1906, he married Willie B. Barrett at Lake Victor and this is where they established their home. Three children were born to them during the time they had together. The children were; Lawrence Hamilton, Emily Lucille, and Milford Howton Traweek. Willie died in February 1915 and Ham married Ollie Clara James later that year. They were the parents of three more children but Ham passed away before the last child was born. Their children were; Jamie Alene, Gholman Lester and Lu Ell Traweek.

Ham Traweek was an enterprising Lake Victor businessman when the community was growing and thriving. He managed the Lake Victor Mutual Lumber Company which supplied the lumber and hardware needed by the community and the surrounding area. He served as postmaster from 1915 to 1920, and also as the County Notary for the area. He was an active member of the Masons and of the Baptist Church serving the latter as deacon, clerk and treasurer through the years.
