Joyce Gilley, 78, Winchester, TN, formerly of Chattanooga Valley, went home to be with her Savior Sunday, September 27, 2009. She spent the majority of her life in the Highpoint, GA, area.

Mrs. Gilley was a member of the Chattanooga Valley Church of the Nazarene and was employed by the North Georgia School System for several years. Her greatest love outside of family would be her love for God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt and Ecelena Mackey, maternal grandparents, Willie and Milton Roberts, paternal grandparents, Amanda and Bedford Mackey, who raised she and her sisters.

Survivors are her husband of 60 years, Maurice Gilley; sons, Michael (Janet) Gilley, Barry (Libby) Gilley, Steven (Susie) Gilley, Rodney (Lori) Gilley; sisters, Bettye Ellis and Millie Scott; grandchildren, Jerod, Nathan, Samantha, Austin, Jordan, Tyler, and Tanner.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Chattanooga Valley Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jon Bemis officiating. Interment in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Chattanooga Valley Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, 2853 Chattanooga Valley Road, Flintstone, GA 30725.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to service Wednesday at the Church.

Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, Battlefield Parkway, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA.
