Daughter of David McClanahan and Mary "Polly" Ingram McClanahan. The family history that has been handed down from one generation to the next indicates that Rebecka/Rebecca's parents, David and Polly, are also buried in Myers Cemetery (Townsend, Tennessee) in unmarked, and perhaps a shared grave.

Rebecca McClanahan married James Lewis Davis in 1836, in Blount County, Tennessee.

Rebecca had 6 siblings: David, Mathew, Homer, James, Mary Ann, and Isaac. David McClanahan (Find A Grave Memorial #6086790) and James McClanahan (Find A Grave Memorial #88276768) enlisted in the Civil War together on 18 Sep 1862, in Blount County, Tennessee as Privates in the Union Army, Company B, 3rd East Tennessee Calvary Regiment. They enlisted for 3 years.

Rebecca also had 3 half siblings: John, Samuel, and Martha Jane.

Rebecca and her husband, James Lewis Davis, had 8 children. In addition to the children linked to this memorial, they also had: Mahala Davis who married William H. Lane. Mahala and William were believed to have been buried in Old Mother Church Cemetery, in Robbinsville, North Carolina.

Some of the descendants of Rebecca and James "Lewis" Davis still live in Dry Valley and Tuckaleechee Cove, now part of Townsend, Tennessee, incorporated in 1921.
