A. Q. WILLIAMS
Funeral services for A. Q. Williams, 80, of Route 2, Laurel, were held Monday, 3 p.m., from Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev. W. W. Bagby, and the Rev. Durwood Thigpen officiated and burial was in Bethel Cemetery. Mr. Williams, who died Sunday morning, was a retired farmer and lifelong resident of the community. Surviving him are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Newton McLain, Route 2, Heidelberg; and Mrs. Ralph Parish, Route 5, Laurel; two sons, Arlee Williams and George Williams, both of Route 2, Heidelberg; and six grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers were Claude Williams, Alton Blackledge, W. C. McRainey, Charlie Reeves, Buford Cooley and Jordan Gatlin. Memory Chapel was in charge.
