MR. FLOYD

Roy P. Floyd, 77, Cave Spring, died Saturday afternoon in a Rome hospital following a brief illness.

A native of Floyd County, he was born Nov. 30, 1898, son of the late Walter P. and Ada Davis Floyd. He had resided in Floyd County his entire life and for ten years and one- half years was a member of the Rome Police Department and for 16 years was a security offficer with Pepperell Manufacturing Company. He attended the Baptist church.

Survivors include the widow, the former Clara Mize, to whom he was married June, 1921; one daughter, Mrs. Cliff Bennett, Rome; one sister, Mrs. Clifford W. Hanson, Rome; one grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Lewis officiating.
Interment will be in Midway Cemetery, Armuchee.

Pallbearers will be: H.E. Mize, Frank Bryant, Douglas Floyd, Horace Cline, Fred Jackson and Joe Gaston. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Brannon, Oscar Minnis, Gene Baggett, Charles Jackson, Jim Doss, Bill McCown, W.B. Hale, Gayle Godfrey, John Boyett and Dewell Lindsey.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. At other hours, they will be at the residence in Cave Spring.
