Delbert Wilbur Richarson passed from this life on earth at Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, Texas on September 27, 2009. He left this world for the better one he had prepared himself for most of his life. Delbert was born August 6, 1922, to Sloan & Linnie (Duke) Richardson in Old Ringold, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Navy from 1941 to 1945. After he was discharged, he began a career as a welder with US Steel in Fresno, California, where he worked for 37 years. After retiring in 1981, he moved back to Ringold, Oklahoma. On January 30, 1945, he married the love of his life, Lois Page Matthews. Together they built a home full of love and a strong foundation in Jesus Christ. He was a faithful member of the Ole Burwell Church of Christ where he was a devoted servant for the Lord. He loved studying God's word and singing God praises. Until the decline in his health, on most days you could find him on the lake fishing or working in his garden. Friends and family will remember Delbert as a hardworking and modest man who was full of love. He was forthright and honest, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and child of God. He will be greatly missed and always remembered. Delbert has joined his beloved wife, Lois, who left this earth before him on May 20, 2009. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son: Van Del Richardson, brothers: Haskell Hughes & Arron Richardson; and a sister: Margaret Richardson.
