"Last evening at 6:10 o'clock occurred the demise of Mrs. Frances, widow of Jerome Ryan, at her home on Copp street. The funeral takes place today at 4 p.m. from the residence. Mrs. Ryan was well known to a large number of our citizens. She came to Biloxi when 11 years of age and has been here 60 years. She was a kind and Christian woman, highly respected by all who knew her. She leaves a family of eight daughters and one son to mourn her loss, the son and one daughter being married. Mrs. Ryan died at the age of seventy-one".
