Harvey Hauglid, 75 of Crookston died at Riverview Hospital in Crookston on Sunday, November 27th.
He was born in Angus, Minnesota on September 3, 1913 the son of Thomas and Mayme Owens Hauglid. Harvey grew up on the family farm and attended school in Euclid. On November 19, 1935 he was united in marriage to Ruth Haugen at Oklee, Minnesota. The couple settled in Crookston and Harvey worked for the Finch-Winslow-Carlisle Company. He served with the U.S. Army in 1945. Mr. Hauglid also worked for the Crookston Municiple Liquor Store and later at the Viking Lounge, retiring in 1975. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Family members include his wife, Ruth; two sons, Dennis of San Antonio, Texas, Douglas of Minneapolis, Minnesota; five daughters, Marleen Stortroen of Climax, Minnesota; Judith Meyers of Fargo, North Dakota; LaVaun Ashmore of Bloomingdale, Ill.; Dee Annette Pierce of White Bear Lake, Minnesota and Del Rae Burmeister of Littlefork, Minnesota; 23 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; a brother, Mervin of Parker, Colorado, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Lester.
