Mrs. Amy Rebecca Griffith, wife of James D. Griffith, died at her home, Reedsville, Thursday afternoon. 1:10 o'clock, aged 47 years, 8 months and 11 days. She was ill two years and was confined to her bed five months just prior to her death, suffering of internal cancer. Her maiden name was Miss Amy Rebecca Moore, a daughter of James and Elizabeth. (Henninger) Moore of McAlevy's Fort. Her mother is dead and her father resides at McAlevy's Fort.
Mrs. Griffith leaves her husband, James D. Griffith, and the following five sons and three daughters: James Joseph Griffith, Burnham; Millard F. Griffith, 24. Railroad Street, Lewistown; Charles S., Richard S., and Albert W. Griffith at their parental home; Mrs. Charles(Elizabeth) Wilson, Reedsville, and Misses Virginia May and Queen Josephine Griffith at their parental home.These two brothers and two sisters also survive the deceased: Albert Moore, Reedsville; Samuel S. Moore, McAlevy's Fort Mrs. Howard( Flora)Mitchell, Milroy; and Mrs. Lewis (Alva) Sassaman, Alexandria, Huntingdon County.
Mrs. Griffith was a member of the Reedsville Methodist Church and Sunday School, being a member of the class taught by Mrs. Charles Sterrett.
Brief funeral services will be conducted at her late residence, Sunday afternoon, 1:15 o clock, followed by the principal services in the Reedsville
Methodist Church at two o' clock. The burial will be made in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville. Rev. Thomas M. Stone will officiate.
