Fletcher Morgan Beamer, son of John and Nancy Beamer was born at Newville, West Virginia on 11 September 1877. He continued to live in that state for several years, and then came to the state of Nevada where he resided for a time. His first residence in Wyoming was at Rock Springs, where he engaged in the mercantile business. He came to Torrington, Wyoming in 1926 and established his home here and became manager of the Golden Rule Store, which was later merged with the J.C. Penny Company. Mr. Beamer continued as manager of the store until the time of his death. Because he was a man who liked to see his community advance, he allied himself with organizations which work for the betterment of the community. Mr. Beamer had been a member of the Methodist Church for many years, was president of the Board of Trustees, and was active in the work of the Sunday school as teacher of the men's Bible Class. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Star, of the Lion's Club and of the Chamber of Commerce and supported such activities as worked for the good of the community.

He was married at Rock Springs, Wyoming to Winifred Marshall and to this union were born three children. Mrs Beamer died on 10 March 1934. 9 August 1937 he was married to her sister Eva Marshall. Mr. Beamer was a kind and devoted husband and father, always holding the welfare of his family of prime importance in his concern. For the past nine months or so, Mr. Beamer had not been well, having been confined to his home last January fro a time. But during this time he has kept up his work as manager of the J.C. Penny store. He was at work last Wednesday, 29 September when he became ill about 5:30 p.m. He was taken to the Platte Valley hospital where he passed away about 7 p.m. He was 66 years and 18 days old.

He is survived by his wife, Eva (Marshall) Beamer, a daughter by a former marriage Mrs. Ray Morgan of Patterson, California; two great-grandchildren, Sarah Louise and Darrow; three daughters of his marriage to Winnifred Marshall Beamer,; Nancy Belle; Pansy Anne and Eve June; all of Torrington, Wyoming. One sister Mrs. Charles Red of Tennessee; three brothers, Melvin of Paris Missouri; Elver of Cuba, Missouri; and Wellington of Mexico, Missouri and many other relatives and friends who will greatly miss him.
