Thelma Mansfield Alvey, 79, of Louisville, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005, at her home. She was a native of Hart County and a daughter of the late Logan and Eurma Sanders Mansfield. She was a retired employee of Double Envelope and a member of the Open Valley United Missionary Baptist Church. Her husband, Carlie Alvey, preceded her in death. Surviving are six sons, Lee Roy Alvey and Paul Alvey, both of Louisville, Jimmy R. Alvey of Shepherdsville, Carlos W. Alvey and Dennis D. Alvey, both of Lexington, and Tommy Alvey of Evansville, Ind.; four daughters, Edna Mae Strange of Shepherdsville, Cokie Baxter of Fairdale, Jean Hubbuch of Corbin and Rita Weedman of Louisville; two sisters, Sue Riggs and Mildred Hoster, both of Louisville; 31 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Cub Run Baptist Church with Brother Lannie Welcher and Brother J.C. Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Cub Run Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday and Friday at Sego Funeral Home in Munfordville.
