Ward Woessner

Sterling – Ward H. Woessner, 86, formerly of 1312 E. 28th St., Sterling, died Saturday, November 16, 2002 at Sterling Pavilion. He farmed in the Sterling area for more than 50 years. Mr. Woessner was born March 21, 1916, the son of Fredrick and Mary (Johnson) Woessner. He married Arlene M. Deets on January 15, 1936 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sterling. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He served for more than 30 years on the Farmers Elevator Board of Milledgeville.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, James (Hiroko) Woessner of Lubbock, Texas and Rick (Kathy) Woessner of Sterling; a daughter, Linda (David) Stralow of Sterling; a sister, Arlene Broers of Sterling; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five sisters, two brothers, and two grandsons.

The funeral is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sterling, with the Rev. Philip Gronbach officiating. Burial is at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. A memorial has been established.
