Funeral services for Verlan COWAN, 85, of Gans were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Agent Chapel in Muldrow, with the Rev. Joe Potts officiating. Burial was in Gans City Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Funeral home in Muldrow.
Mr. COWAN was born May 20, 1913, in Gans, to Benjamin Franklin COWAN and Bessie ESTELLE (LUTHER) COWAN. He died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Survivors include his former wife and friend, Anna Jo; two daughters, Sally and Sheryl; three sons, Larry, Wayne and Thomas; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Lillian; and one brother, Leonard.
