John W.Thompson - private March 6, 1862. Wounded in right
thigh and permanently disabled, at 2d Manassas, Va., August 30,
1862. Retired to Invalid Corps July 2, 1864. Pension records
show he enlisted in Captain Arnold's Co. Ga. Militia November 1864
Surrendered, Macon, Ga. April 1865. (Born in Georgia January 30,
1844. Died in Walton County, Ga. November 18,1919.)



John W. Thompson was first married to Eugenia Broadnax in 1866. She is the mother of all of his children. He married Helen W. Craig on 13th June 1882 in Gwinnett Co., GA by W.M. Winn, Minister of the Gospel.
