Edward Ord Passes Away
Edward Ord, member of one of the oldest military families in the United States, died last night at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was attending the San Diego High School and was residing here with his relatives.
The deceased was a son of the late Captain James Ord and Rosa B. Ord. His brother, Captain James Ord, stationed now at West Point, has a Congressional Medal for bravery. Others of the family are Rebecca Ord, Mrs. Trydell and Lucy Ord.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later and the burial will be at the Fort Rosecrans Military Cemetery.

Ord. In this city, February 5, 1918: Edward Otho Crosap Ord, son of Mrs. R.B. Ord and the late Captain James Thompson Ord; brother of Rebecca and Lucy Maud Ord, Mrs. E.T. Spencer and Captain James B. Ord.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of H.E. Carmichael & Co., corner Third and Ash Streets, Thursday morning, February 7, 1918, at 3:45 o’clock, thence to St. Vincent’s Church, corner of Fort Stockton Drive and Hawk Street, where requiem mass will be said at 9 o’clock. Interment at Fort Rosecrans.
