Kyle Dallas Wright Hill was born in Lyons Township, Mills Co, Iowa on Nov. 16, 1866 after her father, John D. Wright returned from New Orleans where he was stationed with the Union Forces in the Civil War. She lived her entire 99 years in Mills Co. She was mostly self educated through travel and reading. She inaugurated domestic science in Glenwood High School and served as a volunteer teacher until a faculty member could be found. She was instrumental in starting a library in Glenwood and served as the secretary of the library board for meany years. She was active in PEO and DAR. Kyle joined the DAR in 1919 and served as regent of the Glenwood chapter in 1927-28.She met and married 11-11-1903 William Franklin Hill one of the publishers of the Mills County Tribune. She died March 21, 1965 of pheumonia and arteriosclerolic heart disease.
