Carrie Annie Chitwood, 85, died Nov. 6, at the Caritas Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
Born Aug. 8, 1915 in Cottonwood Point; she was the daughter of the late Frank Ferguson and Catherine Bennett Ferguson.
She attended the Caruthersville Schools, graduating in the High School Class of 1935. She was united in marriage to Mr. Hall Chitwood in Caruthersville in 1961. He preceded her in death on May 12, 1971.
She was employed by the Brown Shoe Company in Caruthersville prior to her retirement. She also was a member of the Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Rayburn Jarred of Louisville, Kentucky; one daughter, Virginia Ann Carter of Conway, Arkansas; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, two sisters, Pauline Baker of Caruthersville; Frankie Beasley of Jackson, Tn.; and a number of other relatives and many friends.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, in the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
