Son of John Earl Jones and Elizabeth Jane Brisco-Jones. Born in Texas, passing through Arkansas in 1888, his father was ill, and died in Swifton, Arkansas. His mother and siblings buried John in Arnold Cemetery, and made Swifton their home. He was maarried to Mary Jenetty George, and they remained there till her death in 1915, and in 1916 he remarried to Sarah Caroline Barker, and was residents till her death in 1933. He died in Fresno, California while living with one of his daughters, and was returned to Swifton for burial in Arnold Cemetery near his two wives.
