Services were held at the Nazarene church in this city Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Ada Mary Gillihan, 67, who died at her home in this city on Thursday, August 20. The Rev. C.K. Gortner conducted the service and bural was in Little Prairie cemetery with H.S. Smith Funeral Home service. Pallbearers were her grandsons.
Mrs. Gillihan was born in Obion county, Tenn. September 14, 1891, the daughter of Rube and Martha Ann Humphrey. On December 9, 1909, in Tennessee, she was married to Lawrence Ferrell, who died in 1931. Her second husband, Newton Gillihan, to whom she was married in St. Louis on December 12, 1943, died July 28, 1954. She was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors include four sons, Lawrence, Dalton and Gene Ferrell of St. Louis and Lindbergh Ferrell of Tupelo, Miss.; five daughters, Mrs. Ausybell Bullington, Caruthersville, Mrs. Ruby Abbott, St. Louis, Mrs Delcie Waller, Deering, Mrs. Viola Leach and Mrs. Bernice Waser of Detroit; two sisters, Mrs. Osie Sharp, Blytheville and Mrs. Jessie Pierce, Tiptonville, Tenn.; also 25 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
