COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Harriet Edith Nelson, 81, of Livingston, will be
held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. today, Tuesday, March 2, at the
funeral home.

Mrs. Nelson died on Monday, March 1, 1999, at Livingston Regional Medical Center.

She was born on Oct. 17, 1917, in Overton County to the late Bob and Cora Dickerson
Hooks.

Mrs. Nelson was a homemaker and a member of Hardys Chapel Community Church.

Her family includes two sons, Brown Jr. and Johnny Nelson, both of Cookeville; three
daughters, Pearl Breeding, Mary Sue Dixon, and Carolyn Thompson, all of Cookeville;
two sisters, Myrtle Hicks and Sylvia Hunter, both of Cookeville; a brother, Willie
Hooks of Cookeville; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Brown
Nelson Sr.; two sons, Jimmy Thomas and Donnie Ray Nelson; three daughters, Cornia
Fay, Agnes, and Sally Nelson.

Bro. Dewey Glenn Masters will officiate at the services.
