Georganna M. Gilmore of Greenfield, Mo., departed this life on Wednesday September 23, 2009, in Dade County Nursing Home, at the age of 81 years.
She was born March 16,1928, in South Greenfield, Mo., to the late Guy and Pearl (Miller) Hunt. Georganna was married to Ralph Gilmore. They shared 57 wonderful years together.
Georganna was a "people person" and a "natural caregiver." She retired in 1990 from the Food Fair Supermarket. Georganna has been active in the Green Thumb Garden Club, the American Legion Auxiliary Post #47, the United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women. She relished the role of mother and grandmother.
Georganna is survived by two sons, James A. Gilmore and his wife, Cynthia, of Belden, Miss., and Rev. Randy Gilmore and his wife, Lyn, of Nixa, Mo.; four grandchildren, Jeffery Gilmore and his wife, Angie, of Tupelo, Miss., Amanda Carallo and her husband, John, of Butler, Mo., Page Buchanan and her husband, David, of Mobile, Ala., and Benjamin Gilmore and his wife, Amanda, of Hudsonville, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Josh, Caleb, Aston, Jade, Hannah, Seriana, and Aiden; one brother, Joe Hunt and his wife, Joyce, of South Greenfield, Mo.; one sister, Kathie Lawson and her husband, Charles, of Longview, Texas; one aunt by marriage, Ruby Hampton of Greenfield, Mo.; special friends, Keith, Elmeree, Emie, Ethan, and Eva Martin of Marshfield, Mo.; and a host of neices, nephews, and friends.
The family wish to express their thanks to the Dade County Nursing Home and Greenfield United Methodist Church, and request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to either of these wonderful organizations.
Services will be held at 3 pm Saturday, September 26, 2009, in Greenfield Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Joe Hampton and Pastor Travis James officiating. Burial will follow in Pennsboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until service time.
Services are under the care of Greenfield Chapel.
