PACE III., PAUL C.

Mr. Pace passed away September 23, 2009 at Haven Hospice. He was born March 24, 1929 in Jacksonville, FL and moved to Gainesville in 1968.

He retired from Southern Bell Telephone Co. after 40 years as District Construction Manager. He served in the Army for 23 years and was a veteran of the Korean War. He Retired as a Captain. He loved the Army and was a true Patriot. Paul was an honorable and just man, the likes of which rarely exists. He loved to garden and work in his yard. His favorite sport was fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Pearl Pace, a brother, James, and his beloved son, David. He leaves with wonderful memories his loving wife of 57 years, Alice, his much loved son and caregiver, Mike, adored grandson, Patrick and Poppa Boo Boo's favorite girls, great granddaughters, Abigail and Allison Pace. He also leaves two sisters, Pauline Powers (J.C.), and Louise Wiggins (Oliver), and his loyal friend of many years, Dan Cooey (Bobbi).

It was his wish that everyone do a good dead in his memory.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 11:00 A.M., at Forest Meadows Cemetery, Central, 4100 N.W. 39th Ave. The service will be conducted by his nephew, Butch Cronon.
