Bill and Alice (Butts) Loughridge were blessed by the arrival of their bundle of joy, Lola, on September 7, 1925. She passed away April 14, 2009, at her home southwest of Cabool, Missouri.
Lola spent her school years at Gum Springs School, walking the couple of miles to and from the country school each day.
She loved her Lord Jesus and her life was a witness for Him. She told all she met about Jesus, His dying for our sins and our need to be saved to make heaven our home. She handed out gospel tracts wherever she went, a soldier in her Lord's army.
She was a caregiver for the elderly, mostly in the Springfield, Missouri, area for more than 50 years.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Doris Ratterree.
She leaves as her heritage a daughter, Becky Freeman of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; four grandchildren, Cathy Daniel and husband Jon, David Archer and wife Sara, and Christy (Johnson) Archer, all of Mtn. Grove, and Misti Ronk of Springfield; nine great-grandchildren, Shyanne, Lane and Brenton Daniel, Natalie and Nicholas Archer, Devon, Kyle and Chasity Archer, all of Mtn. Grove, and Tyler Jones of Springfield; and four nephews, Don Ratterree, Junior Ratterree, Tommy Ratterree, and Terry Ratterree.
Graveside services were held 2:00 p.m. April 15, 2009 at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Bud Everett, former pastor at Southside Baptist Church, Springfield, officiating. Pallbearers were David Archer, Jon Daniel, Lane Daniel, Brenton Daniel, Adam Hull, Terry Ratterree, Tommy Ratterree, and Junior Ratterree. Services were under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home, Cabool.
