Simon M. Waddle departed this life at his home in Yale [OK] after 3 weeks illness of typhoid fever, complicated with brights disease of the kidneys & heart trouble. He was born in Marion County, IA, & grew manhood in the vicinity of Monroe, IA. On Aug 30, 1904 he was united in marriage with Miss Fannie V. Minnick. To this union were born 6 children, 2 sons & 4 daughters. In Jan 1905 the family moved to Yale, OK, where they have resided ever since.

The deceased was the oldest child of a family of six children born to Janes & Margaret Waddle of Monroe, & his wife was the third child in a family of 6 children born to C.A. & Sarah Minnick of Yale, OK. Of the near relatives left to mourn his departure there are his wife, 6 small children, his mother, 4 brothers: Alex of Newton [IA], Will of Altoona [IA], John & George of Monroe & 2 sisters: Rebecca Marshall of Altoona & Bessie Nimmo of Monroe, besides a host of distant relatives & friends numbering all that have ever become acquainted with the deceased in his life.

He was not of a robust rugged constitution during life, and his energy & ambitions constantly urged him to labor beyond his strength. He was a faithful Christian in every sense of the word. His honesty & dependable reliability was so well known that his employers placed absolute confidence in him in matters of responsibility & integrity. He has been in the employe of the Yale Wholesale Grocery Co. for many months, and so highly was he esteened by the firm that the large establishment was closed up & the proprietors attended the funeral services while his fellow employees acted as pall bearers.
