Physician/Civic leader. At the time of his death, he had been practicing medicine in Southington for 29 years. He interrupted his medical practice twice to serve in the Peace Corp and with the State Department in Africa. From 1969 to 1970 he worked in Upper Volta to help fight the yellow fever epidemic. In 1973 he returned to Africa to serve in Nigeria. During World War II, he was a medical technician with the U.S. Army. In September 1953 he opened his local practice after graduating from Temple University of Medicine in Philadelphia. He was on staff at Bradley Memorial Hospital in Southington, Meriden-Wallingford Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital and Waterbury Hospital. He was a member of the Southington Board of Education from 1971 until he resigned in January 1979.
