Ida was the wife of Edgar Davis Witten.
She was the mother of Clarence, Charles, Elizabeth, and Lillie Witten.

Ida was the daughter of Fleming Litteral and Sarah Elizabeth Prater.

MRS. WITTEN SUCCUMBS WELL LOVED WOMAN WAS 73 YEARS OF AGE
Mrs. Arda Litteral Witten, 73, Oil Springs died December 10, 1945, in a local hospital following an emergency operation. She was the wife of Edgar Witten and a member of a prominent Johnson County family. She was the daughter of the e late Flem and Sarah Prater Litteral of Oil Springs. A member of the Methodist Church since early womanhood she was a devout Christian, and was loved and respected by all who know her. Besides her husband, she is survived by four children, Mrs. W.F. Clayton, Gary, WV., C.T. Witten, Wheelersburg, OH., Mrs. Ralph Preston, Pikeville, and Clarence at home, also three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Jno Coldiron, Greenup, Harry Litteral, Millersburg, OH., Mrs. John Runyon, Ft. Thomas, and Hannah Litteral of Oil Springs. Seven brothers and sisters have preceded her in death. Nine grandchildren and a host of other relatives also survive. Funnel services were held at Oil Springs, on December 13, by Rev. Carr, pastor of the Oil Springs Methodist Church and Rev. John Collins. Burial was made in the family cemetery at Oil Springs under the direction of the Prater Funeral Home. Paintsville Herald Thursday 12-13-1945
