Myrtle was born January 26, 1928, in Brady, Texas, on Mann's Ranch, to James Buchanan and Nettie Eugene (Wilson) Rolan. She was raised in Rockdale until the family moved to Houston, in 1932. She lived the past 12 years, of her life, in Caldwell, TX. She loved dancing, baking, cooking, canning,gardening,her flowers and her family.
Myrtle married Bennie Driver(1) on Oct. 27, 1947, in Houston, Tx, at her parents home. She married Eulice Jones(2)on Oct. 20, 1973, in Houston, Tx.
In early yrs. Myrtle worked for Shoemakers, in downtown Houston. Was a homemaker for many yrs. and a professional seamstress. She worked for the Barbara McEuen Dance Studio, as a secretary and sewing costumes. Later she workered for Glaizer Meats and was a bookkeeper for L. L. Ridgeway Office Supply and later C.E. Glass, both of Houston.
Myrtle passed away unexpectedly, in the early morning hours of Monday, September 21, 2009, in the Dubuis Hospital of Bryan, TX, reaching the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Willie Raymon Rolan and Ernest Manuel Rolan, her husband Eulice Jones.
Surviving: Partner of 14 yrs. Ray Blackmon of Caldwell. Daughters, Joyce [Driver] Wyatt of Brenham and Janice [Driver] Negrete of Spring. Brother, James "Jimmy" Rolan of Kingsland. 4 grandchildren, Mark Wyatt, Amy Davis, Kerry Negrete and Ben Negrete. 4 great grandchildren, Brayden Negrete, Rosalyn Wyatt, Madalynn Davis, Calvin Davis.
