John T. Ogle Is Stricken Today
Heart Attack Brings Death to Wheat Farmer
John Thomas Ogle died today at 4:40 a.m. at his home, 203 Jackson street, after a 10 days illness. Death was caused by a heart attack.
Mr. Ogle was born April 6, 1877, at Ridge, near Ukiah, and was the son of the late Benjamin F. and Sarah E. Ogle, who crossed the plains in early days. An extensive owner of wheat lands, Mr. Ogle was known for his integrity and in his passing, Umatilla county has lost one of its substantial citizens.
Mr. Ogle and Miss Nellie Darr were married July 9, 1920; she survives him as do three children, Barbara, Helen and Darr, and four sisters, Mrs. W. E. Campbell of Athena; Mrs. R. J. Campbell of Middle Cold Spring; Mrs. T. B. Simonton of Walla Walla and Mrs. A. V. Butts of Beaverton.
He was a member of the Baptist church; the Knights of Phythias, Pythian Sisters, Odd Fellows and Rebekahs. The funeral, under the auspices of the Knights of Phythias, will be held Friday, 6:30 p.m. from the Folsom chapel with Rev. W. E. Dissette of the Baptist church officiating.
