Lewis L. Kollenborn, 87 of Kalispell, died Monday, August 16, 1999 at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
He was born February 6, 1912 in Gifford, Idaho to Charles and Dolly Kollenborn. He was raised and educated in the Gifford area.
He worked in the woods in the Columbia Falls area from the time he was 13 years old. He later worked for the CCC. During World War II he worked in the shipyards in Vancouver, Washington building ships. In 1946, he returned to Columbia Falls, where he worked for Stoltz Land and Lumber Company, for two years on the construction of the Anaconda Aluminum Company, then worked at Plum Creek as a jippo sawyer and box car loader.
He was married to Marjorie Bernice Tracey on June 26, 1941 in Columbia Falls. She preceded him in death on September 3, 1984.
He devoted his life to his family and children. He loved all children.
He is survived by his three children, Darrel Kollenborn, Maria Robinson, and Janice Seefeldt all of Kalispell; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
