ORIE G. ANDERSON DIES THURSDAY
Funeral services were held for Orie George Anderson, 76, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of his son, Fred Anderson in Buckeye township, with Rev. Ellis Briggs, of the Assembly of God church officiating. Burial was in Highland cemetery. Orie George Anderson was born December 3, 1868, in Stockbridge, Michigan, and passed away at the home of his son, Fred last Thursday after a brief illness which followed a stroke suffered a week ago. He was married in 1894, and his wife died eight years ago.
Mr. Anderson came to Gladwin county 42 years ago and settled in Buckeye township where he has since made his home. He was converted and baptised under the ministry of Rev. Clements, and has been a faithful member of the Assembly of God church for several years. He was township supervisor and a school officer for several years.
Surviving are his son, Fred, of Buckeye township: two daughters, Vorance Cameron, of Gladwin and Mae Richter of Flint; two brothers, John of Stockbridge, and Fred, of California; 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A third daughter died 17 years ago.
