John Lewis Gibson, 66, of RFD 3, a retired farmer, died last night at his home.
Born in Albemarle County, March 18, 1898, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John L. Gibson. He was married to the late Mary C. Gibson. He was a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by four sons, William L. Gibson, Harry E. Gibson, Henry F. Gibson and Morris F. Gibson, all of Charlottesville; two daughters, Mrs. Richard L. Fisher of Edgewater, Md. and Mrs. James Woodson of North Garden; a brother, Claude Gibson; two half-brothers, Charles Gibson and Hunter Gibson, all of Charlottesville; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Brown of Richmond and Mrs. Retha Sacra of Salt Lake City, Utah; 26 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at Preddy's Funeral Chapel, with burial in St. John's Episcopal Church Cemetery at Ivy.
