He was born in Savannah, Tenn., Aug. 21st, 1892, the son of the late D.B. and Augusta Rogers. On Jan. 17 in Dyer County, Tenn., he married Miss Bessie Elizabeth Hicks. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Wesley and Preston Rogers both of Caruthersville; five daughters, Mrs. Arlene Parks and Mrs. Frances Green, both of Rector, Ark., Mrs. Earline Spence of Victoria, Tex., Mrs. Rachel Barner of Lafe, Ark., and Mrs. Emma Newton of Caruthersville; one brother, Cuba Rogers of Dyersburg, Tenn.; four sisters, Mrs. Ruby Gourley of Lanes Ferry, Tenn.; and Mrs. Pansy Gourley, Mrs. May Scott, and Mrs. Mabel Southern, all of Dyersburg, Tenn.; 36 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were William Green, Glenn Parks, Kenneth Newton, Bobby Rogers, Budd Mann, and Terry Holt.
