He was returning from the sale at Joseph Gordon's, near Lippencott, about eight o'clock in the evening, in a one-horse buggy. His residence is a short distance off the Jefferson road and a large locust tree stands in front of it. It is supposed that he was driving fast when approaching his home and leaning out of the buggy on the side next to the tree.
Mr. Crayne was forty-seven years of age and is survived by his wife and three children. Mrs. Crayne is lying in a precarious condition from cancer of the stomach and a sister of the deceased is also lying very low. Four brothers also survive him; John, Samuel, Thomas and Stephan.
