Born September 5, 1892 in Albemarle County, he was the son of the late John Peter and Susan Sprouse Gibson. He was the widower of Edna Sprouse Gibson.
Mr. Gibson was retired from Farminton Country Club and a lifelong member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Ivy.
Surviving are a grandson, Wayne Cash of Charlottesville; four great-grandchildren, Dana, Wendy, Dedra and Stephenie Cash all of Charlottesville; a nephew Harry E Shiflett of Richmond; and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Chapel with burial in St. John's Church Cemetery. A memorial service will follow in the Church.
Family will be at Hawkins Funeral Chapel from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
