Stroke Causes Death of Mrs. R. J. Tabler

Last rites for Mrs. R. J. Tabler, 72, were held at the Methodist church at 4 p.m. Sunday. The pastor, Rev. M. F. Bell was assisted in the service by Rev. D. A. Williams of the Christian church. Burial was in Green Hill cemetery.

The previous Monday night Mrs. Tabler sustained a stroke which paralyzed her left side. She passed away Saturday night at her home in this city.

Miss Rebecca Jane Crawford was born in Prentiss county, Miss., Oct. 16, 1868. She was married in 1884 to W. P. Tabler who preceded her in death June 22, 1926. To this union were born eight children – seven girls and one boy. Five girls survive, namely:

Mrs. Jessie Keller, Wynnewood, Okla.; Mrs. Alma Hill and Mrs. Belle Hunt, Davis, Okla.; Mrs. Lois Shook, Buckeye, Ariz., and Mrs. Della Bennett, Altus, Okla.

Other survivors are: Three sisters, Mrs. Belle Thornton, Texarkana, Texas; Mrs. Ollie Holman and Mrs. Birdie Thornton, both of Ben Lomand, Ark.; five brothers, George, Jack and Loan Crawford, all of Ben Lomond, Ark,; Al Crawford, Foreman Ark.; Clifford Crawford, Wynnewood, Okla.; 18 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Mrs. Tabler was a member of the Presbyterian church. She moved to Davis in 1927 and has lived here since that time.

Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. And Mrs. Clifford Crawford, Mrs. Ollie Holman, Mrs. Jessie Keller, Betty Mae Keller, Elery Gordon, Jesse Martin, Lester Crawford and Miss Lottie Reece, Ada.
