James William Myers, age 73, a resident of Portland, died Friday at his home.
Born in Jay County to Marion L. and Eileen (Tharp) Myers, he graduated from Portland High School in 1954 and from Coyne Electronics Institute in Chicago in 1961.
He was married on Feb. 14, 1976, to Patricia Ann Leape who died on Aug. 18, 1986.
A veteran of the Indiana Army National Guard in Indiana for nine years, he worked for Banking Electronic Security and Communications for 30 years, Diebold Inc. in Canton, Ohio, Mosler, Inc. in Woburn, Massachusetts and Lefeburg Inc. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
He was a member of Portland Friends Church.
Survivor s include two sons, Mark Allen Myers, Spring Lake, N.C., and Jeffery William Myers, Anderson; and a brother, Larry Lee Myers, rural Portland.
There will be no visitation or funeral services. Burial will be in Salamonia Cemetery at a later date.
