Alice Elizabeth Anderson, 92, of Moorhead, MN, died Thursday, March 29, 2007, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.

Alice Jacobson was born on November 1, 1914, in Trail County, ND, to Fred and Martha (Edwards) Jacobson. She was baptized and confirmed in Halstad Lutheran Church and attended Herberg Consolidated School and Halstad (MN) High School, where she was a charter member of the Camp Fire Group. She graduated from Hillsboro (ND) High School in 1933 and from St. Ansgar Hospital Nursing School in Moorhead (MN) in 1937.

Her nursing career consisted of many private duty nursing cases, general duty at area hospitals including the Cass County Hospital in Fargo, St. Ansgar Hospital in Moorhead, and she was also the Director of Nursing at Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead.

She married Jalmer O. "Jake" Anderson on June 12, 1938, in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, MN.

She was a charter member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Moorhead, where she participated in many women's activities including being elected Historian of the synod wide Women's Missionary Federation, a member of the Quilting Group, and until her death was active in WELCA and the Esther Circle. She was also a campfire leader from 1964-1972 and active in the St. Ansgar reunions.

She and her husband, Jake, enjoyed wintering in Texas for 12 years. She enjoyed cards and games with her friends, neighbors and family. Her home was always open to friends and family needing a place to stay, a cup of coffee, or a friend.

She is survived by two daughters; Phyllis (Nick) Smilonich and Jeanne (Humberto) Rodriguez; two sons, Bryce (Daria) Anderson and Stephen (Mary) Anderson; one sister, Gladys Peacock; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six nieces and nephews; as well as sisters-in-law, Ida Bye and Eileen Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jalmer Anderson; one son, Eugene Jalmer Anderson; two granddaughters, Dr. Jill Smilonich Miller and Jessica Anderson; one sister-in-law, and four brothers-in-law.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or Eventide Chaplaincy Endowment Fund.

Visitation: Tuesday, April 3, 2007, from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral: Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at 1:00 p.m., in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN

Interment: Comstock Lutheran Church Cemetery, Comstock, MN
