Robert Judson Jeffords, father of Mrs. Fred Neal and Mrs. T.B. Holly of the city, died at his home in Marston on Friday, March 23 and funeral services were held the following Monday afternoon at the Baptist Chapel in New Madrid, the Rev. Brown of Marston conducting the service.
Mr. Jeffords was born in Lyon county, Ky., January 16, 1890, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander W. Jeffords and was aged 61 years, 2 months and 7 days. On September 21, 1911, in Drew, Miss., he was married to Miss Cora Thomas, who survives him. He was a member of the Baptist church in Lambert, Miss.
In addition to his wife and two daughters, he is survived by two sons, Robert Jeffords of Vandalia, Mo. and Sgt. Bill Jeffords, Fort Leavenworth, Kas.; two other daughters, Mrs. Claude Adams of Vandalia and Mrs. A.C. Carter of Portageville; one brother, W.A. Jeffords, West Memphis, Ark.; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Camp, Little Rock, Ark.; 13 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
